Moorestown Remembrance Block Party: FAQ

GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is this event?
A community celebration where Moorestown youth share what they have learned about local history and family stories. There will be food, live podcast recordings, activities for kids, and special programming honoring our elders.
When and where is it?
September 19th – Location is Yancy/ Adams Park.
The exact time – 2:30 – 5:30 pm.
The event runs – 3 hours.
Do I need to register?
Yes, this will give you access to the free food and drinks, as well as access to exclusive content. REGISTER
Is this free?
Everything is FREE.
ALL Food, Games, and Live Events ARE FREE based on limited supply and capacity. After the supply of NJ Trust funded food is exhausted, food will be available for purchase.
Limited to preregistration estimated supply for 200 people.
What if it rains?
We have (3) large tents, so the event happens rain or shine.
GET INVOLVED
Volunteer. We need canvassers, table hosts, recording-day hands, and setup help. Sign up on the West End Remembers volunteer form or email hello@remembranceus.org.
Become a sponsor. Businesses and organizations can back the day. Sponsors are named as partners on the day and in our thank-you, as relationships, not logos.

Nominate an elder. Someone in the West End is carrying a story the neighborhood should honor. Name them here.
Host a programming tent. Community orgs, vendors, artists, and activities can request a tent through the programming tent form.
FOR PARENTS & FAMILIES
What will my child be doing?
If your child participated in the Remembrance curriculum, they may be presenting their work, participating in a live recording, or helping welcome guests. All youth will have dedicated activities throughout.

Will my child be recorded?
Live podcast recordings will happen on-site.
We’ll have consent forms available, and no child will be recorded without parent/guardian permission.
Is food provided?
Food trucks will be on-site. FREE FOR REGISTERED ATTENDEES.
Can I bring younger siblings?
Yes. Youth activities are designed for a range of ages.
FOR ELDERS & SENIORS
What’s happening for elders specifically?
You’re the honored guests. There’s dedicated seating under the tents, opportunities to share your stories on mic if you’d like, and youth who want to hear from you. This is your day.
Do I have to speak or be recorded?
Absolutely not. You’re welcome to just enjoy the food, music, and community. If you’d like to share a story or memory, we’d be honored—but there’s no pressure.
Will there be seating and shade?
Yes. Both tents have seating, and we’ll have chairs set aside for elders and anyone who needs them.
I have mobility concerns—is the space accessible?
Elders have dedicated restrooms, tent space, seating, and access to the vendors and performances.
FOR YOUTH
What’s there for me to do?
Dedicated youth activities, chances to hear your neighbors’ stories, food trucks, and—if you participated in the curriculum—a chance to show what you created.
Can I bring friends?
Yes. This is a community event. Everyone’s welcome.
Will I be on the podcast?
Only if you want to be and your parent/guardian says it’s okay. We’ll ask first.
ABOUT THE RECORDINGS
What’s being recorded?
We’re doing live recordings for The WestEnd Remembers: Moorestown Remembrance podcast—conversations with community members about local history, family stories, and what Moorestown means to them.

Can I listen to the podcast later?
Yes. Episodes will be released after the event. We’ll share links with everyone who attends.

What if I want to share a story but not be recorded?
That’s completely fine. Not everything has to be on mic. We’re here to listen either way and will have folks there to support you in your journey.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
What should I bring?
Just yourself. Bring a lawn chair if you want extra seating outside the tents.
